About the project
Project No. BGLD-2.001-0002 “Establishment of International Youth Center – Burgas” is implemented under the “Local Development, Poverty Reduction, and Enhanced Inclusion of Vulnerable Groups” Program, funded by the 2014–2021 European Economic Area Financial Mechanism (EEA FM) and managed by the External European Programs Directorate at the Bulgarian Ministry of Education and Science.
The project is also implemented in partnership with the Municipality of Reykjavik, Iceland (in the period October, 2021 through March, 2024) and is part of the Burgas Municipality activities in the youth policies field.
The International Youth Center is situated in Burgas’ largest residential area, “Meden Rudnik”. Its location is convenient and easily accessible both by public and private transportation. The built-up area of 1,153 sq. m. consists of a parking lot, a multifunctional hall that seats up to 180 people, spaces for open conferences, exhibitions, seminars, and meetings, as well as recreation areas and areas for informal cultural and educational activities. The ground floor holds a cafeteria, and the second floor includes a 35-bed facility for guest speakers and participants in national and international events. The building meets the Council of Europe’s standards for accessible environment for people with reduced mobility.
