Club for Traditional Folklore “Zelenika”

Club for Traditional Dances “Zelenika” was founded on May 2, 2022. “Zelenika” is one of the few clubs in Bulgaria that preserves traditional Bulgarian dance as it was passed down from our ancestors, drawing knowledge from archives and folk personalities, and presenting forgotten dance patterns from our folk dance heritage! The club also includes a newly established children’s dance school, where the principles of maintaining a healthy body, learning authentic regional dance styles, and delivering high-quality stage performances are followed.

The founder of the club is Yani Angelov. He graduated as a professional dancer in Bulgarian folk dances from the National School of Folk Arts “Filip Kutev” in Kotel in 2017 and as a choreographer-teacher from the University of Music and Dance Arts “Prof. Asen Diamandiev” in Plovdiv in 2021, with a master’s degree in “Arts Management”. He currently works as a dance performer with the PFA “Strandja” in Burgas, a teacher in his specialty, and as a guest choreographer for dance works in various dance groups across the country.

The club rehearses twice a week (Monday and Wednesday) from 7:15 PM to 8:15 PM at the Youth International Center – Burgas.
