The event was an interactive training
in the form of beach games. After a brief introduction, the participants were
divided into four teams and symbolically took on the thematic roles of
Mermaids, Аborigines,
Pirates, and Sailors, all fighting for one thing – the island “Central
Beach.”
The Battle for Provisions followed – a tug of war – one team against another – there you could feel the power of each one for common success. They built camps from makeshift materials, but with much love and practical ideas. The competitions in the sea helped us cool off on the hot summer day. There, the teams had to decide which teammate was nimble enough to catch the opponents’ “coconuts.”
Teams had to unite to gather the necessary associative puzzle clues and orient themselves using the compass to find the treasure. This way, the youth immersed themselves in team play and developed teamwork skills – both with familiar and unfamiliar people. The quiz on getting to know the Black Sea coast, combined with a quick sprint to determine who would answer first, not only tested but also enriched the teams’ knowledge of the topic.
The captains of the Pirate and Aborigines teams dueled for first place with swords, and after the Aborigines returned back their Island from the invaders, they graciously decided to share the treasure with everyone – the watermelon! We concluded the activities with a reflection and talked about the lessons we learned from the training.
“Lost on the Beach”
unfolded like the plot of an adventure novel – there was drama, mystery,
action, and triumph! So many emotions, laughter, overcoming difficulties, and
bonding!
