More about the project

The International Youth Center is situated in Burgas’ largest residential area, “Meden Rudnik”. Its location is convenient and easily accessible both by public and private transportation. The built-up area of 1,153 sq. m. consists of a parking lot, a multifunctional hall that seats up to 180 people, spaces for open conferences, exhibitions, seminars, and meetings, as well as recreation areas and areas for informal cultural and educational activities. The ground floor holds a cafeteria, and the second floor includes a 35-bed facility for guest speakers and participants in national and international events. The building meets the Council of Europe’s standards for accessible environment for people with reduced mobility.

The implementation of this project is of great importance for the youth sector. It enables the young people of Burgas to establish sustainable partnerships with professionals in various areas. It also provides non-formal education opportunities in the following fields – democracy and democratic values, human rights, youth inclusion, and social rights of vulnerable communities – all of which are essential for the Bulgarian National Youth Strategy and the Council of Europe’s Quality Label for Youth Centers.

Any outside organization planning conferences, seminars, events, or training courses may book the International Youth Center for its activities. The IYC facilities can be used free of charge by any national or foreign government institution, non-government organization, or youth network structure, which upholds the Council of Europe’s values.
