Today we celebrate the International Roma day. Did you know, that on this day, roma people from all over the world pay tribute to their victims in the World War II?
Youth worker Violeta and a group of Roma youth gathered together to paint the Roma flag as a way to mark this important day.
So what does the flag symbolize? It’s a red wheel with a background of green and blue. The green and the blue symbolize nature and the sky, as well as the free nomad life. The wheel was called chakra in Ancient India, and is there to remind Roma people of their Indian heritage, and the long journey they have gone through from India to Europe.
Special thanks to our participants: Elena, Fracheska, Hristo, Vesa, Fani, Elenka, Ali and Franka!
