In the period 24.09. – 28.09. the team of the International Youth Center – Burgas visited the European Youth Center in Strasbourg, France. In the days of our stay, we had the opportunity to learn more about the work of the European youth centres, to visit the Council of Europe and to see the sights of the French city.
On 24.09. we arrived in Strasbourg and were accommodated in the Youth Centre base.
On 25.09. we were officially welcomed and went through the first interactive working session with representatives of various departments in the youth sector. We learned more about the history, creation, financing, development and work of the Youth Centre in Strasbourg. The program continued with tour of the Youth Centre and its indoor and outdoor areas.
The topic of the second day of our stay was related to the activities for the development of the youth sector, activities with young people and youth movement in Europe. We also discussed the standards that any youth structure should meet, with a focus on democracy, human rights and the rule of law. We had the opportunity to visit the building of the Council of Europe – experience very important for youth work.
27.09. was a day for sightseeing in the stunning city of Strasbourg.
During our stay in the cosmopolitan European city, we were able to gain experience from our international colleagues in the youth sector and fill our eyes with the beauties of the “Heart of Europe”!
Our visit to Strasbourg was carried out with representatives of the Local Development Program and colleagues from the Youth Centers in Vratsa, Pernik and Montana.
