In February, the International Youth Centre of Burgas has prepared for you a rather intriguing and intensive program. Each weekend, we will host a different event, aimed at young people. The goal is to encourage youngsters to improve their skills in different areas, demonstrate learning and knowledge…and, of course, have fun in the meantime.
Debates
As a way to recognize February 8, announced in the Council of Europe Calendar as Safer Internet Day, there will be a debate competition. In the battle on arguments and counterarguments will participate students from PGKPI, AEG “Geo Milev”, NEG “Goethe”, PPMG “Acad. Nikola Obreshkov” and GRE “G. S. Rakovski”. A surprise quests of the competition will be group of students from Momchilgrad, that will arrive specially to take part in the event. The debates will be open to the public. The date is February 11 (Saturday), and the place is “Al. Georgiev Kodjakafaliyata” Primary school, where a European debate competition for children up to 14 years of age will be held in June.
Seminar “Skills for the Future”
In the third weekend of the month lecturers from the technological world will engage young people during one-day seminar “Skills for the Future” with the intricacies of adaptive thinking, career planning and the specifics of modern financial instruments. The program includes four modules: “Negotiate like the FBI”, “How to become a CEO”, “Toxic people? That’s easy” and “Blockchain Basics” will be presented by mentors who work with multinational organizations and are specialists in building high-performance teams. The seminar will start at 10.00 am on February 18 (Saturday) at Expo Center “Flora Burgas”.
Billiard and Youth Quiz
In the last weekend of February everyone interested can join our already traditional billiards tournament and youth quiz. They will be held on February 25th and 26th, respectively. This two events are popular, not only because of the competitive and entertaining elements, but also because of the opportunity for young people to show knowledge and experience.
