Four students from Burgas – Ivayla Zhekova from the High School of Mathematics and Science “Acad. Nikola Obreshkov,” Denitsa Doycheva from the German Language High School “Goethe,” Zhivko Spasov, and Simeon Boev from the Professional High School of Computer Programming and Innovations – became one of five youth groups approved for funding as part of the seventh edition of the initiative. The winners were announced during an official ceremony at the National Museum “Earth and Man” in Sofia.
The students’ project, named Pierrot, won funding of BGN 4,548 in the #BeLocal category – Culture, Art, and Historical Heritage.
Pierrot will be an online platform providing detailed information about all theater performances, aiming to make culture more accessible to young people. The project also seeks to encourage active dialogue within the theatrical community by offering registered users the opportunity to share opinions, comments, reviews, or critiques of past performances.
The team from the Youth International Center in Burgas will mentor the four students, assisting them in implementing the project and guiding them toward achieving their goals.
This is the largest socially responsible initiative by Lidl Bulgaria. It supports socially significant civic projects, aiming to contribute to a higher quality and more fulfilling way of life for people across the country. The approved projects will be implemented by the end of 2025 and aim to reach nearly 2 million people in 20 locations throughout the country.
