Trial simulation based on a real case 2.0

A group of young people with interests in legal studies had the opportunity to participate in a trial simulation based on a real case.

The case, reenacted on April 16 at the Burgas Courthouse, involved a young driver who was detained in 2019 in Sozopol for drug use.

The aim of the event was to provide the participants with practical experience and understanding of how a court trial is conducted. This initiative, which we are holding for the second time, not only enriched the young people’s knowledge of the legal system but also inspired them to become active citizens who understand the importance of justice and law.

Young people had the opportunity to get acquainted with the different roles in the courtroom – judges, prosecutors, lawyers and witnesses – and to see how the judicial system functions.

Special thanks and congratulations to the young people who did a great job stepping into their roles:

Zhecho Stanev (lawyer); Viktoria Ivanova and Stanislav Iliev (jurors); Dalia Bahchevanova (prosecutor); Konstantin Georgiev (defendant); Dona Boyanova (lawyer) and Igor Peychev, Kristiyana Skopchanova and Gabriela Dimitrova (witnesses).

A great deal of credit for their excellent performance in front of an audience goes to Judge Anatoli Bobokov, Deputy Chairperson of Burgas District Court and Judge Stanimira Ivanova from Burgas Regional Court, who trained and prepared the participants.

We were delighted that many other young people also attended as spectators and were not hesitant to ask their questions to Judge Bobokov and Judge Ivanova regarding the case, as well as other questions related to jurisprudence.

The date of the event was not chosen by chance – April 16 is the Day of the Bulgarian Constitution and the professional holiday of jurists. The event was organized together with the Burgas Regional Court and the Burgas District Court.

We are pleased we worked together again and we thank them for this opportunity.
