The European Commission has opened applications for EU TalentOn 2026 – a prestigious scientific competition for young researchers aged between 21 and 35. The initiative will take place from 7 to 11 September 2026 in Brest, France, as part of the European programme “Science Comes to Town.”
The event will bring together over 100 participants from across Europe, who will work in international teams to develop innovative solutions to key societal challenges. The topics are linked to the five EU Missions: climate change adaptation, cancer, restoration of oceans and waters, climate-neutral and smart cities, and healthy soils.
The programme includes an intensive week of training, mentoring, workshops, and meetings with representatives from science and industry. At the end of the competition, participants will present their projects to a jury and an audience.
The organizers provide full funding for travel, accommodation, and subsistence, and the total prize pool amounts to €80,000, including a grand prize of €12,000.
The application deadline is 30 April 2026. The initiative aims to foster collaboration, innovation, and stronger connections between science and society in Europe.
