Second edition of the competition “Young fisherman”

On June 18, we held the second edition of our fishing competition for amateur youth called “Young fisherman.” Twenty-five anglers between the ages of 15 and 29 participated. They tried their luck in the waters of Mandrensko Lake near the “Meden Rudnik” complex.

Georgi Hristov scored the highest number of fish in the final rankings, followed by Kaloyan Simeonov in second place, and Ivon Ivanova finished third. They received prizes, and all participants were awarded certificates.

The judge of the competition was Michel Dimitrov, a world champion in sport fishing and a multiple-time national champion. Partners in this event were the Executive Agency for Fisheries and Aquaculture (EAFA), whose employees helped with the organization of the competition, and the special guest was the director of the agency, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vanya Stamatova. We express our sincere gratitude to all of them for their assistance in ensuring the smooth running of the event.

The goal of “Young fisherman” was not only the competitive aspect and winning prizes but also providing participants with the opportunity to be outdoors in nature and meet new people. Their desire is to have such an event again next year, aiming to popularize fishing as a hobby among young people.
