Our second billiards tournament for amateurs went great. The event took place in billiard club “HotShots” once again. We had a total of 26 enthusiastic young people.
The winner was the 15-year-old Martin Kunev, student from PGMEE. He is a second time champion, after his triumph at our first edition in December. In the final match he prevailed over Kiril Arnaudov, who took the second place. Third among the winners was Yani Boev. All of them received certificates from International Youth Center Burgas.
The billiards tournament will be traditional in 2023 and will be held every last Saturday of the month. The next event will be on February 25. All tournaments will take place at the HotShots Billiard Club.
The rules of the tournament are for the eighth ball, and the matches in the first round are determined by virtual lot. After playing the first match, the one who prevailed goes to the “winners” stream, and the other player goes to the “losers” stream. The meetings in the two streams continues on an elimination basis, with the winner determined in the final game between the first place players from the two streams.
Everyone is welcome to participate in our tournament, the only condition is to be amateur lover of the game, professional players are not allowed. You can register online in advance or on the spot on the day of the event.
The big announcement made at the event is that Youth International Center Burgas founded its own billiards club. Once a month we will organize a meeting, where the club members can improve their skills and techniques, learn better the rules, and create a new friend group through their favorite game. The training will be conducted by people with experience in billiard games and will be held in billiard bar “HotShots”.
Billiards enjoys great popularity among young people in Burgas, as our surveys among them showed. A large part of the respondents – 51 people – said that they would like to participate in activities related to the billiard game. As a result of the needs and interests of young people in the city, Youth International Center Burgas organizes this tournament, as well as the billiards club.
