Vocational High school for computer programming and innovation and IYC-Burgas participate in the “Clean and accessible Strandzha” campaign

Students from the Vocational High School for Computer Programming and Innovation and representatives of the International Youth Center in Burgas became part of the “Clean and accessible Strandja” campaign.

It is organized by “Zelena Strandja” Association and is aimed at students over 14 years of age. The goal is to combine the useful with the pleasant with a series of ecological actions – energetic mountain hikes with care for the environment.

The last cleaning took place in the area of Belevren – a picturesque Strandja village on our border with Turkey, known for its mysterious dolmens. The volunteers learned interesting facts about them, as well as the beliefs and rituals of the ancient people.

On their journey, however, they came across an unpleasant sight – a lot of scattered waste, among which there were car tires, plastic, cans, clothes and others.

Within a few hours, the volunteers managed to collect over 40 bags of garbage and left behind a cleaner nature. They were helped by the mayor of the settlement and forest officials from the Sredets State Forest Service.
