Spring has come and the easing of the Covid -19 measures is a fact.
What could be more beautiful and symbolic than planting a tree, cleaning a polluted area, collecting unnecessary textiles and creating something beautiful out of it!
The team of the International Youth Center is calling for participants and volunteers to join for this month’s Green April initiative
On April 9 / Saturday/ , we will be planting trees at Mineralni bani Park. A total of 100 saplings of acacia and black pine are provided by Gorata.BG. They will be plant on a deforested area damaged after the big fire in 2019.
Meeting point: the bus stop on Hristo Botev Blvd. at 10:00 AM. Transportation in both direction is provided by Burgasbus LTD. Another partner in the Green campaign is “Burgas Markets” Ltd.
On April 16 / Saturday / we organise spring cleaning in Meden Rudnik residential area
Meeting point: the garden next to the Meden Rudnik Bus Terminal аt 10:30 АМ.
Gloves and garbage bags will be provided by the local Meden rudnik Municipality. Employees of the local mayor’s office will also join the cleaning.
There will also be a tent for collecting old textiles, so bring old and unnecessary clothes that you don’t need anymore! Apart from handing them over for recycling in the nearest mobile point of the Municipality of Burgas, we will breathe new life into the old clothes through a creative workshop. The IYC girls will navigate you through sewing a “troll” figure from used textiles.
Each participant will sew a “troll” for himself and another one for a Ukrainian child in Meden Rudnik Crisis Center.
