A new online platform for volunteering and events has been launched by the Municipality of Burgas

The Municipality of Burgas Launches a New and Modern Online Platform for Volunteering

The Municipality of Burgas has launched a new and modern online platform for volunteering that will facilitate the connection between organizers and volunteers who wish to participate in various events and public causes. The platform is called ihelp.bg and aims to give a new dimension to volunteer initiatives in the region—better organized, more transparent, and much more accessible to all interested parties.

The project is the work of two IT experts from Burgas—Vladimir Ivanov and Hristo Trendafilov—who wish to contribute to good causes in the city.

The platform is already active, and registration is currently open for the first three exciting upcoming events in Burgas:

  • The LEGO League Burgas, the largest robotics festival,
  • The European Rhythmic Gymnastics Cup for Women and Girls, and
  • The Balkan Championship in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

The platform has already been translated into English, with a Russian version coming soon.

The platform is designed with convenience and motivation for volunteers in mind. Each user can register once and receive a personal profile, where they can specify the locations where they are available to participate in initiatives, as well as the categories of events that interest them—such as sports, culture, education, technology, social activities, and others.

Based on this information, when an organization publishes an event, the system automatically sends a notification to all volunteers whose interests and location match the event.

By introducing new technological solutions, the platform will significantly improve event organization. Each volunteer will receive a personal QR code, which will be scanned upon arrival. This makes check-in fast, accurate, and easy to track.

Organizers will thus have precise data on attendance and participation without administrative burden.

One of the most innovative and useful features of the platform is its two-way feedback system, which aims to improve the quality of volunteer initiatives. After each event, organizers can rate the performance of every volunteer, allowing them to build a personal rating—a reflection of their activity, responsibility, and commitment.

On the other hand, volunteers will also be able to rate the event organization and give feedback to the organizers. This will encourage higher quality and better preparation for future initiatives.

The rating system is fully transparent and will play a key role in building trust and professionalism in the volunteering sector.

The platform is already being actively used by the Municipality of Burgas and the International Youth Center – Burgas. Other institutions and organizations are expected to join soon and begin publishing events.

If you want to become part of an active, inspired, and supportive community, here’s how:

– Visit the official volunteer platform: https://ihelp.bg/

– Complete your registration in just a few easy steps

Many more exciting events will soon be added to the platform, all of which will need volunteers. External partners such as concert or competition organizers who need volunteers should contact the Municipality of Burgas at the following phone number:
