We just held the fifth edition of the Quiz Battles, organized by International Youth Center-Burgas!
Each time, the event has gained more and more popularity, and this time there were as many as 30 teams registered. The venue was Expo Centre Flora, and this time the quiz went in a slightly different way. Due to the large number of participants, we made two identical events, happening at the same time in two of the centre’s halls.
The quiz was created by the previous winners – Team “Mnogo Milo”, who are two-time quiz champions. They did a great job in challenging the teams with some difficult and unusual questions, but also made sure to satisfy the group’s musical fever with as many as 20 songs from the music round! The hosts of the quiz – Todor and Stella from “Mnogo Milo”, played their role brilliantly, being charming, funny and social.
Like all previous battles, in this one the teams competed in 5 rounds: General Knowledge, Visual Round, Music Round, Fandoms, and Difficulty Questions. As usual, the teams competed for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, with a small change in the rules this time. Running the quiz in two rooms this time required adding an additional rule – at the end of the quiz, the six teams with the highest points competed against each other in a final deciding round. The finalist teams that faced each other in a battle for victory were Team Caffeine, Locked in the Basement, Brain cells, Crimson Government, Sozopol Trash and Avogadro.
3rd place went to Avogadro team with 136.5t, 2nd place went to Team Caffeine with 137t, and first place went to Locked in the Basement with 137.5t – only half a point difference!
Due to the great interest in the youth quizzes and the large number of participants, the humble team of the Youth Center needed help. That’s why we put out an ad for volunteers to help us prepare the halls and be team moderators. We are happy to say that volunteers came together in a short time and did a great job. We are very grateful for the help and hope that it was a useful and fun endeavour for them too.
It makes us extremely happy to see that young people are interested in participating in fun educational events like this. Expect the next edition of Quiz Battle vol 6 very soon – this time the creators will be team “Locked in the Basement”. We can not wait!
