Read about “Crack the Matrix” crash course, held on 19. and 20. November

On the 19th and the 20th of November was held the crach course “Crack the Matrix” in two editions. It was organised by the International Youth Center – Burgas.

The main goal was to form and develop in the participants a number of key skills: presenting in front of an audience, goal-setting and how to communicate effectively. We also touched on the important topic of human rights.

The trainers, who led the crash course were youth workers from the Youth Centre – Ventsislava Tsvetkova, Mirela Gospodinova and Zhulieta Ivanova.

The training was attended by young people from the following educational institutions: The German language high school, the Science and Mathematics high school, the primary school “Konstantin Petkanov”, the Russian language high school and the University of “Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov”.

The crash course topics were presented through the lens of non-formal education, with information presented through interactive activities and exercises.

Participants learned why it is important to set specific and achievable goals and how they bring us closer to our dreams.
They learned that regardless of the color of their skin, sexual orientation, or  religion, every person has  rights.

They learned what “nonviolent communication” is and practiced conflict resolution.
Last but not least, they got useful tips on how to speak in public and stepped into the spotlight with the task of selling a wacky idea to the audience.

The feedback from the participants is that this type of training is not very common in Burgas, but is extremely useful due to its practicallity in the reality of our life. The International Youth Center plans to continue with similar educational events, because they help the professional and personal growth of young people in Burgas.
